The initial chapters are dedicated to meticulous world-building, immersing readers in the rich details of the universe. The author’s beautiful attention to detail paints vivid scenes of nations and introduces a diverse cast of characters, each playing a unique role in the unfolding saga. I referenced the appendix often to make sure I was following the characters, as the list is quite vast! It’s a thrilling novel and I loved the familial themes.

This hefty fantasy book is chock full of action and adventure. This very detailed book builds an elaborate world filled with different species such as trolls, fae, skin-changers. The world built is expansive as are the many characters within the book.

I will say, though, that with the amount of characters in the book, I found myself getting a little confused and lost in the storylines. I wasn’t sure who was who and what their goal/objective was in the story. The appendix in the back gives more backstory to each of the characters, but I believe it would be easier to retain if their stories were written as part of the book to help clarify them.

Overall, the book was well written and very entertaining. Solberg and Jacobson have done a great job of creating a lush and extensive new world, with a very complex and extensive storyline.

If you like high fantasy and detailed, hefty series, Remnant is a great book to read!

The beginning of an adventure with life at stake

A captivating tale of people trying to survive in a broken world where those who rule hold the power of life and death in their hands. Do you go about with your life hoping that you won’t be noticed or do you fight in every way that you can.

Here we get to follow those who decide to fight for themselves and their family's, against the oppression that threaten to divide and kill them. An intriguing story about trying to keep their own family safe and the hostiles are closing in.

This is a highly detailed world with magic, shades, trolls, Fae, shapeshifters and other creatures.

It's an intense epic fantasy with a complex storyline and multiple subplots, battles, and quests.

I would recommend reading over the character/roles appendix at the end of the book first as there is an extensive and diverse amount of characters and it was hard to keep track at times especially with their different abilities and jobs.

Overall this was an intriguing adventure with rogues, masters, immortals, spies, collectors and oracle's, with detailed worldbuilding, centred around a family of smugglers each with a key role to play in this ongoing saga.

This book is fantastical and so full of action! There is so much character and world building going on and it includes a map and multiple appendix for races, characters, places, etc. sometimes the amount of points of view and different events got overwhelming but it got easier as I read. It is definitely a big fantasy filled book and doesn't have romance in the book. It's nice to have a good solid fantasy without romance attached to it. I recommend reading the physical book over the Kindle so that you can flip back and forth to the map and appendixes.

I really started to get attached to a few of the characters. There was little romance, but there was so much to discover about this world and the types of people. I had a bit of a hard time keeping track of all the characters and the different types of characters because there was so much going on. I didn't see the lists of characters until I finished the book.

If you like high fantasy with battles and bloodshed that doesn't focus on romance then this book might be for you.

I look forward to reading the next book to see where the adventure continues to.
